Suspect arrested in fatal shooting in Pomona – Press Enterprise

A suspect has been arrested in a deadly shooting in Pomona last November, police announced Tuesday.

Early on Nov. 28, authorities responded to a shooting on the 600 block of Karesh Avenue in Pomona, near Holt Avenue and Indian Hill Boulevard. They found a man in an alley suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. Marcelino Vazquez, a 32-year-old of Pomona, was killed in the shooting.

Police said investigators later identified Ricardo Ramirez, a 38-year-old of Pomona, as the suspect in the shooting.

Officers located and arrested Ramirez on Wednesday, Aug. 9, on suspicion of murder, shooting at an occupied vehicle and dissuading a witness.

Police didn’t immediately announce a motive, if known, in the killing. But a Tuesday police statement said the investigation remains ongoing.
